397x400 HOA by Sam Armstrong Takes Eastern Shore Classic
The torrid weather of July finally broke just in time for the Eastern Shore Classic. Friday afternoon doubles
actually felt cool as temps were in the low 70s. Paul Billings wrapped up the doubles with the lone 99.
Saturday
started with cool, blustery, overcast skies which made the targets really stand out. While rain threatened, it never
really got started. In 12 Ga. Sam Armstrong defeated Bill Walmsley and Jeff Fleischut in the shootoff. In the 28 Ga.
Sam took on and defeated Larry Patrusevich and Tom Johnson. After the shooting, we were treated to a great chicken barbecue
prepared by club chef Larry "Buddha" Seward.
On Sunday, the sun came out giving us a pleasant day. Sam
prevailed once again in the 20 Ga., this time defeating Button Matthews. Only in the .410 did Sam falter, but squadmate
Mark Gay took the smallbore with a 99.
HOA was won by Sam Armstrong with a 397x400 and Mark Gay was the RU.
Sub-junior shooter Skeete Smitha, mentored by Russ Paul, turned in a 94,96,90,77 for a very encouraging 357x400.
